Aria, Kathy and Shanti sell arts and crafts to raise money for local causes.
Spring is here, and some local students are on the beach. Others are playing soccer, while still others are raising money for special causes.
Aria, Shanti and Sequoyah have been selling arts and crafts to raise money for a cause near and dear to their hearts.
"The girls chose these specific crafts," explained Aria's mom, Kathy, "because the three of them typically work well together. They are all very skilled in creativity and bringing ideas to life," she said.
"What they sell: ALL HOME MADE :D crafts that range from clay sculptures, bracelets, keychains, and other art crafts! What they are saving up for: 3D printer and donating to a foundation that helps kids with cancer."
The foundation they selected for their donation holds great personal significance. It was established by their family in memory of a cousin who tragically passed away from cancer at the age of 16.
Aria is in fifth grade, she sells desk buddies.
I bought a Desk Buddy in the shape of a fish. "You can use them as a paperweight," suggested Aria. Other desk buddies were animals, birds or authomobiles.
Not all the crafts were desk buddies, however. Shanti and Sequoyah are 6th graders, and they make mostly book marks.
"The girls are incredibly hardworking, smart, kind, girls and they are learning about entrepreneurship, salesmanship and people skills," says Kathy. "You can find them on the corner of 6th and California - from 4-7pm weekday, and on the weekends anywhere from 10-7pm"
