A homeless man's possessions were seen strewn about as police interviewed the distraught driver about the accident.
Santa Monica Police appear to be investigating a murder or possible hit and run on Sunday Evening, 1.5.25, as of 8:50 pm PST. A man's body was seen under a tarp in the roadway, and a homeless person's possessions were strewn around Wilshire Blvd.
Police were seen talking to the driver, a man who appeared to be distraught. Which means this wasn't a hit and run as he didn't flee the scene, a felony in California.
The City sent the following Everbridge mass notification at 9 pm : "Due to a traffic collision, Wilshire Blvd. will be closed between 24th St. and 26th St. for approximately 4 hours. Use alternate routes."
A woman was killed at that same intersection while crossing Wilshire Blvd, about two weeks ago Sunday at 6:40 pm., in a hit and run. She was a long time Santa Monica resident. Police have made an arrest in that hit and run case.
