Shore Hotel to Unveil Shoreside Restaurant & Bar Led by Executive Chef Todd Bohak

Opening this Fall, the New Santa Monica Restaurant Will Offer California-Coastal Fare and Oceanfront Views

Located on Ocean Avenue in the heart of Santa Monica, Shore Hotel will expand its culinary offerings with the anticipated opening of Shoreside, a modern lifestyle restaurant and bar opening this November. Soon-to-be Santa Monica's newest hotspot and "outdoor living room," the 76-seat restaurant will combine Southern California's charm with exceptional dining and breathtaking views just steps away from the iconic Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade.

"We are thrilled to introduce Shoreside to the Santa Monica community," said Jon Farzam, co-owner and CEO of Shore Hotel. "Our goal is for the restaurant and bar to become an integral part of the neighborhood, and we look forward to welcoming Los Angeles visitors, friends, and neighbors to California's newest dining experience."

Led by Executive Chef Todd Bohak, a graduate of the Art Institute of Los Angeles in Santa Monica, Shoreside will bring celebrated California-coastal fare to life across its indoor, outdoor, and poolside spaces. Chef Bohak, whose early culinary career flourished under the tutelage of legendary chefs like Hans Rockenwagner and James Beard Award-winner Nancy Silverton, returns to his Santa Monica roots, infusing his expertise with a deep reverence for the city's vibrant food scene.

These formative experiences-combined with his time as an Army Airborne chef in North Carolina and as a chef for Intercontinental Hotels, Hyatt Regency, and True Food Kitchens-shaped Bohak's passion for innovation, sustainability, and the art of fine dining. Now, at Shoreside, Bohak is poised to elevate California-coastal cuisine by highlighting the region's exceptional local ingredients and merging classic techniques with inventive twists. His menu will focus on the bounty of the Pacific Ocean and California's fertile farmland, with dishes that reflect a modern, seasonal approach.

Highlights include the Brandt Prime Filet, served with creamy Yukon potatoes and a rich Cabernet demi-glace, as well as playful nods to local flavors, like the California Hamachi Crudo with zesty ginger ponzu and Sonoma Lamb Chops paired with mint cucumber couscous and rosemary bordelaise.

Bohak's return to Santa Monica also reflects his enthusiasm for the city's dynamic hospitality scene, where working in a hotel restaurant allows him to reimagine the dining experience as something more fluid and immersive. Guests will be invited to explore Shoreside's multi-sensory dining experiences-whether enjoying an al fresco lunch overlooking the ocean, a vibrant evening poolside, or a cozy dinner indoors. His vision is to create a culinary journey that is both approachable and adventurous, with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients that celebrate California's coastal abundance.

"I have always had a passion for the culinary arts, and I am looking forward to leading Shoreside as it will give me an opportunity to express my creativity in the kitchen," says Chef Bohak. "Our menu will feature ingredients from local farmers' markets, seafood from local fishermen, and locally grown herbs for beverages and seasonings."

In addition to elevated yet approachable menus and an expansive list of creative cocktails, local beers, and a curated wine list with a focus on California and sustainable wines, design highlights of the restaurant will include an oversized 'L-shaped' bar with a centerpiece back bar that stretches to the ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows offering sunset views from the lobby and indoor bar, custom terrazzo floors, woven coastal furnishings, and a sustainable ethos mirroring the hotels' initiatives as a LEED certified hotel.
