Californian's Love Mexico's El Cielo Resort & Winery and Here's Four Reasons Why You Should Visit!

You've visited Mexico and stayed at breathtaking beachside resorts, sipping the best margaritas made with the best Mexican Agave Tequila and eating all of the ceviche the ocean offers, but did you drink any wine? I mean authentic Mexican wine, a burgeoning industry just 90 miles south of San Diego and the Tijuana border.

May I introduce you to El Cielo Resort & Winery in Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico's most celebrated wine region? This area produces 70-90% of Mexico's wine, often called the last untapped great wine region left in the world. The Valle is brimming with over 100 boutique wineries, endless vineyards and dining experiences, expanding the reputation of Mexico's finest cuisines. El Cielo is nestled between two majestic mountain ranges and surrounded by 1,640 feet of luxuriant vineyards with breathtaking views of rolling hills, grapevines, olive trees and the sky is the limit from every location on the property..

El Cielo Resort is a luxury hospitality project with a wine tourism concept surrounded by 48 acres of beautiful vineyards. The property includes an on-site winery, a boutique resort with 95 suites and villas, two specialty restaurants, Latitud32 and Polaris, and the new Equinox Terrace, which offers spaces for corporate events, social events and weddings. Vineyards and olive trees, mountainous landscapes and two idyllic reservoirs surround the property, which is a recipient of the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Over a decade ago, El Cielo was built with ecological functionality and energy efficiency in mind, gaining the position as the first winery in Mexico to use solar panels in its winemaking process. In 2015, the Ensenada City Council recognized El Cielo Winery as the First Eco Responsible Company. Visitors are immersed in 219 acres of planted land where El Cielo grows a healthy variety of grapes, such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Malbec, Merlot, Syrah, Zinfandel, Primitivo, Nebbiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache and Pinot Noir, with a density of over 1,486 plants per acre and a total of 325,562 vines, El Cielo's clay-rich land is irrigated with high-quality, low sodium water from its well. Currently, 164 acres of El Cielo's vines are certified organic, and the winery is working towards being 100%certified organic.
