Biden drops out of the Presidential Race, in a Foreseeable but Surprising Move. Amgibuously Endorses Kamala Harris

The Clintons threw their support behind Kamala Harris. But Not All Democrats Are Onboard, So Expect a Fight at the August DNC

In a move that cannot really be described as surprising, Joe Biden has dropped out of the 2024 US presidential race. He said it had been his honor to serve with Kamala Harris, but stopped short of endorsing her for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Nancy Pelosi among others, had lead a campaign demanding that the President not seek the Democratic nomination, which he easily won in the primary months ago. "There's a lot of fury by those who feel Joe was forced out,"

"If Kamala Harris is not the nominee, it would be an acknowledgement that she was never qualified to be vice president. @KamalaHarris will therefore be the nominee." Tweeted Bill Ackman, a former Democratic donor and hedge fund manager who has urged the president to drop out.

The Clintons threw their support behind Kamala Harris, ending speculation that Hillary Clinton would again seek the nomination. Donald Trump predicted in a golf course conversation last week, that Joe Biden would drop out and Kamala would be the nominee.

Trump was ridiculed by the media earlier this month when a hidden video camera captured him saying he beat Biden so badly in the debate that Kamala Harris would be replacing him," tweeted Collin Rugg. "Today, that became a reality.

"How did I do with the debate the other night? Kicked that all-broken-down pile of cr*p. He just quit," said Trump ten days ago. "I got him outta the race. That means we have Kamala... She's so bad."

It is by no means certain that Harris will be the Democratic presidential nominee. There are others who are interested even if the Clintons are not. California governor Gavin Newsom has run a shadow campaign for president. It can be said that his intelligence that Biden would not be the nominee, was accurate.

"I'm gonna say, what a lot of these folks aren't saying," tweeted Alexandria Ocasio Cortez Friday. "I'm just gonna say it. If you think that there is consensus among the people who want Joe Biden to leave, that they will support Kamala - Vice President Harris - you would be mistaken... I'm gonna be honest for them. I'm in these rooms. I see what they say in conversations. A lot of them are not just interested in removing the President. They are interested in removing the whole ticket."
