The Daily Santa Monica Crime and Drug Video - July 5, 2024

Santa Monica's City Council thinks the city is just fine. One councilmember called the homeless residents our neighbors, their wants and desires equivalent to those of people who pay rent and pay taxes. The 'freedom' of some, most of whom suffer from drug addiction and mental illness, to live in filth, disease and to commit crimes with impunity, is valued over the ability of the rest of society to live healthy lives in law and order.

Is this banner on Santa Monica's 3rd Street Promenade the cause of, or call out to City leaders from residents and business owners to address an underfunded police department, open drug use, open drug dealing, free distribution of needles and glass pipes, daily walk-in theft, and attacks on residents and tourists? Business and tourism are down, and fears about one's safety all over Santa Monica are up. Emails between Santa Monica City Manager David White and Barbara Ferrer's LA County Department of Public Health show he went against the wishes of Santa Monica and cooperated, collaborated, and endorsed the free needle and glass pipe distribution in the City's parks by The Venice Family Clinic, whose employees arrive in unmarked cars to do their dirty work. Look around the parks, sidewalks and resident carports. What do you see? Behind doors, the Mayor and majority of 7 Councilmembers say they want David White fired. They say otherwise in public because they are missing one more vote to fire.
