Community, Diversity, Sustainability and other Overused Words
Project Pop Drop Foundation, take "National Days" very seriously as an opportunity to give back to the communities that need their help. So on #NationalPretzelDay they partnered with the best pretzel brand in the world, Wetzel's Pretzels!
Niki Shadrow Snyder and John David Snyder, the big hearted founders of Project Pop Drop, brought a team of volunteers and friends to the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission in Northridge.
TV host shaka Smith, author Hari Tahov and recording artist Vanessa Béjine were on hand to help.
The Project Pop Drop team provided a delicious after school snack party & surprises to over 100 families experiencing hunger and homelessness, with the famous Wetzel's Pretzels truck, in collaboration with Wetzside Pretzels, the west coast branch of the brand. In honor of #NationalPretzelDay, they wanted to spread some love, kindness, and of course, delicious pretzels! But wait...that's not all!
They provided an array of fun activities for all the children and their families who are staying at the shelter. The kids were treated to a fun and exciting car ride on a thrilling racetrack entertainment experience, sponsored by Kids Car Club LA, a community driven company that is dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences for children.
The children and their families experienced Laser Z Tag by Game Truck LA, a photo booth, racetrack obstacle courses, hot soft pretzels, lemonade and many more fun activities!
They also had a fun pretzel character there to pose for some "Pretzel Day" photo ops. The "Pretzel Party For A Cause" was a wonderful community event with local business owners and volunteers, along with friends, collaborating to make it a special day for these families going through unimaginable challenges.
About Project Pop Drop
They are dedicated to giving back 365 days a year, to help eradicate homelessness and food insecurity, while assisting underserved communities. They have created a business culture of giving with numerous partners, including students at local schools. They deliver food, clothing, essential-life saving supplies, plus they create amazing activities that are part of unique events to organizations who assist people experiencing homelessness as well as to low income and underprivileged individuals and families with children. In doing so, they provide an experience that uplifts the soul for everyone involved. The Project Pop Drop team is a community. A community of "givefluencers".
The San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission, the local chapter of the Rescue Mission Alliance, which has multiple locations throughout Southern California, provides shelter & guidance for families who are experiencing homelessness at their Home Again Family Success Center in Northridge. Their family shelter offers families the opportunity to recover from the devastating effects of homelessness by meeting the basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter, while identifying the underlying reasons for becoming homeless and establishing a plan of restoration. They engage the unsheltered unhoused people who are living on the streets, with their Survival Outreach Services program, providing them with hot showers, clothing, hygiene products, haircuts, and meals. Their mobile shower unit travels to churches strategically located throughout the San Fernando Valley to meet the needs of those living on the streets. Delivering showers and meals to the unhoused members of the community builds relationships that lead to positive steps toward addressing the root causes of their homelessness and setting them on the path to recovery.
