Sheriff's Arrest One Man After He Live Streamed Himself Discharging a Firearm Into the Night in Marina del Rey 4.14.24

Numerous law enforcement and other emergency personnel, along with additional agencies responded to an active shooter live-streaming from a rooftop in Marina Del Rey. Victory Nguyen, aged 41 owns numerous firearms including two AR rifles and a pistol on top of an apartment building, fired multiple rounds at people and at Los Angeles police. Multiple streets were been shut down, and LASD asked nearby residents to shelter in place and avoid the area.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Dept. released the following about Saturday night's midnight shooting incident in Marina del Rey:

Nguyen was taken into custody by law enforcement after he reportedly live-streamed a shooting from the rooftop of an apartment complex in Marina del Rey. The incident occurred late Saturday night, with the suspect firing numerous shots at people and law enforcement. He was armed with multiple firearms, including an AR-15 rifle and several pistols. The shooting took place at the Marina 41 Apartments in the 4100 block of Via Marina.

Witnesses reported hearing 30 to 50 or more rounds being fired. The gunfire forced people to take cover behind cars and trees, but no injuries were reported. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to the incident, with a SWAT team and other law enforcement officers closing nearby streets. The suspect was eventually apprehended around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.
