Serial Vandal Charged in Absentia with Leaving Anti-Semitic Graphics all over Burbank and Glendale

An arrest warrant has been issued and bail set at $65,000 by the court

December 13, 2023 - Yesterday the Los Angeles County District Attorney announced charges against a serial vandal who has defaced numerous properties with iron crosses, swastikas and the letters "SS." Klinton Allister Dion, 32, has been charged with two counts of vandalism of religious property, a hate crime; and 10 counts of hate crime – displaying a Nazi symbol/etc., on public and private property. It is further alleged that the offense is a hate crime within the meaning of Penal Code Section 422.55 and was committed for the purpose of intimidating and deterring persons from freely exercising their religious beliefs.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Dion.

In the interest of public safety, the prosecution recommended that Dion be held on a $650,000.00 bail once he has been arrested. The court set bail at $65,000. If he is convicted as charged, Dion could face a maximum sentence of 20 years behind bars.

Dion's vandalism includes:

-Drawings of an iron cross and swastika left behind at an IHOP in Glendale on November 24

- Large swastika and iron cross drawn on Temple Emanu El in Burbank on November 24

- "SS" symbols drawn on a garage and laundry at an apartment complex in Burbank around November 24

- Swastika on the Emmanuel Church in Burbank between November 22 and 27

- Large swastika drawn on a Glendale Water and Power electrical box, city newspaper dispenser, and a bridge around November 25

- Large iron cross, swastika and "SS" drawn on the Moonlight Rollerway property in Glendale on November 25

- "SS" drawn on Extra Space Storage Center

- Swastika drawn on the property of Commercial Kitchen

"The escalating wave of anti-Semitic attacks against the Jewish community will not be tolerated in Los Angeles County," District Attorney Gascón said in a public statement. "We have a zero tolerance for such behavior and our Hate Crimes Unit will work diligently to continue prosecuting such crimes."
