Merchants Swept Yet More Broken Glass on Montana Avenue Saturday Night, as the String of Burglaries and Vandalism Continues

Someone smashed the front glass at The Massage Place at 625 Montana Avenue late Saturday night or perhaps early Sunday morning.

It's another Sunday morning on Montana Avenue, Santa Monica's premier upscale shopping street. In addition to church bells and the sounds of weekend bicyclists buying coffee at Peets, one can hear the soft sound of merchants sweeping up broken glass.

Someone broke the front window glass at The Massage Place at 625 Montana Avenue early Sunday morning or perhaps late Saturday. The owner could be seen in the window Sunday morning, watching as an employee swept up broken glass. She said the police had been contacted and were investigating.

Santa Monica Police are investigating three burglaries on Montana Avenue that were discovered when merchants opened up after last weekend, i.e. on September 4th, 2023. The burglaries were at Margo's Bardonna and Pinkberry stores. Again, Montana Avenue is Santa Monica's answer to Rodeo Drive. But that doesn't seem to matter recently.

Police say they will ask for the public's assistance after analyzing security camera footage from the stores.

It's unknown whether the break-ins were connected to a recent flurry of smash and grab robberies throughout LA County.

Someone also smashed the glass door entry to Santa Monica's police headquarters on Main Street last weekend. Perhaps this is a sign of the times we are living through, that even the SMPD have a break in problem.

" The Massage Place is committed to providing the ideal environment for you to receive a quality massage at an affordable price. Our staff can help you select a therapist ..." says Google.
