Could They Have Saved Her? Debate on Twitter About Whether a Woman Lying At the Side of The Road Could be Saved

"Keep going bro we can't do nothing for her," the passenger told the driver, as they drove past a woman lying by the side of the road

A couple of men driving an SUV through Lahaina during the Thursday fire that destroyed the town, did not stop to pick up a woman lying on the side of the road. On social media, people were second guessing the decision.

"Keep going bro we can't do nothing for her," the passenger told the driver, as they drove past a woman lying by the side of the road. Trees and buildings burn in the background. The driver protests, briefly, and the passenger repeats "we can't do nothing for her."

"Humanity is dead. They just drove right past her and left her for dead… #Hawaii #mauifire #MauiFires" tweeted Panter Mike.

"They left her but hypothetically they open that door, that car is filled with more smoke than it currently is, they hotbox their car, lose more oxygen and suffocate as that is the main cause of death is lack of oxygen in that scenario. While its sad, that was their best choice." tweeted BAM.

"I am a firefighter, that was an easy quick grab. Could just have saved a life. Most people just go into self preservation mode when they’re shit scared. Just tragic. All the love to the people of Maui and those affected." tweeted Kane Raven.

"Was she alive? Are they firefighters? Do they have PPE to complete the task? It so easy to text shit from your comfy couch," tweeted JP Crypto.

If my wife and baby are in the car with me I am not stopping, they're safety is my number 1 priority," write Geoffrey. "But if I am in the car with 2 of my friends like this situation, I would get out and help."

"Even appears to be a truck where she could of been just put in the back if all seats taken," replied Panther Mike

"Been thru this in person, firefighters in the family. Exiting that car would mean almost certain life threatening burns. The worst of which scorched lungs from breathing super heated air and smoke. If she was down, sadly, she was already too far gone," tweeted Fartooften.

It's unclear what ultimately happened to the woman. The original video may be seen on Twitter at https://twitter.com/PantherMike182/status/1689409366984949760?s=20
