Snow predicted for UCLA, Hollywood Hills, Bel Air, Even Brentwood is possible. Get out your cameras and winter jackets!
Is it my imagination, or is this the coldest winter in LA in like fifty years? And this last week in February is predicted to include the coldest storm of the year.
This week, snow levels could fall to 1000 feet. The Hollywood sign is at 1000 feet, so it's entirely possible a white blanket could cover the Griffith Park area around the sign.
The cold storm should start hitting the westside of Los Angeles County around 4 am PST on Friday, February 24th. In Southern California mountains snow is likely all day Thursday and Friday, with up to 7 feet of snow possible in some areas.
"Due to the potential for strong winds and heavy snow, a BLIZZARD WARNING was issued for the #LACounty and #VenturaCounty mountains from 4 am Friday to 4 pm Saturday. Snow accumulations up to 5 feet and wind gusts in excess of 55 mph are expected. #CAsnow #CAwx," NWS Los Angeles tweeted.
