Mentally Ill Homeless Man Shuts Down Santa Monica Blvd Late Tuesday Morning.

A mentally ill individual caused Santa Monica Blvd to come to a halt Tuesday morning by blocking traffic with his body and his actions. A Santa Monica Big Blue Bus had to wait for police to remove the individual before it could proceed.

We asked Lt. Rudy Flores why traffic came to a halt and why Santa Monica Blvd., was blocked off at 11th Street

"Officers responded to 14th / Santa Monica regarding a male standing in the middle of the street throwing things at passing vehicles. When Officers arrived, the male jumped on a BBB bus. Officers stopped him and subsequently transported to a local hospital where they put him on a psychiatric hold."
