Puppy Stolen at Gunpoint by Three Men, One Armed, on the Venice Boardwalk

Such doleful eyes are priceless, though the Husky mix puppy would sell for only about $250.

Lady Gaga’s English Bulldogs were stolen from her on February 24th and later recovered. But this is apparently not the only case of guns being used in canine robberies.

“My roommate was walking the dog on the Venice Boardwalk in the early evening on February 19th,” say RJ. “when he was approached by three young men. One of them was armed.

“My roommate said he decided not to pursue them, having just had a pistol pointed at his chest. Once they got the dog, they walked away.”

What was the motivation for stealing the dog, a Husky mix named Sosa? “The dog himself was not especially valuable, I think we paid $250 for him. This was just a crime of opportunity.”

“But that puppy was dope! Sosa was an amazing puppy. He was just eight weeks old at the time.”

“My roommate is emotionally scarred by the experience of having his puppy taken from him at gunpoint. This is lunacy, stealing a guy’s dog at gunpoint,” he adds.

The men are described as 3 young Hispanic males in their early 20’s. “They spoke perfect English,” says RJ. The crime was reported to the LAPD which is investigating.

A $1000 reward is offered for Sosa the puppy's safe return. If you have seen Sosa the puppy, please call (571) 232-5130.

The below excerpt is from the New York Times article about the theft of Lady Gaga’s bulldogs.

A man was shot while he was walking two French bulldogs in Los Angeles on Wednesday night and the dogs were stolen, the police said. The dogs belonged to the singer Lady Gaga, according to a representative.

The shooting took place around 9:40 p.m. local time as the man, whom police did not identify, was walking north on Sierra Bonita Avenue in Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

It was not clear why the man was shot. The man, who is in his 30s, was shot at least once, the police said. The gunman stole the dogs and was seen leaving in a white vehicle, the authorities said. The victim was cradling a third dog as emergency medical workers treated him, according to KABC-TV which had a helicopter over the scene.
