Mid-Century Garden Apartment San Vicente View Undergoes Renovation to Modernize & Restore Historic City Landmark
For just $3100 a month, you can be the lord and master (or goddess and mistress, as the case may be), of 670 square feet in 90402.
To be fair, folks all over the world pay a premium to be close to the ocean. San Vicente View Apartments occupy the very Northwest corner of Santa Monica. This is a choice property in one of the priciest zip codes in the entire US.
Fun fact: Up until 1961, railroad tracks ran down San Vicente's center divider. SVV Apartments is located right where San Vicente curves toward Palisades Park. When it was built in 1949, you could hop on the Trolley and head in to work. No car needed.
"Newly renovated and updated furnished or unfurnished 1 and 2 bedroom apartments are available with floor plans ranging from 670 Sq. Ft to 1,250 Sq. Ft. Monthly pricing for unfurnished units start at $3,100 and $5,400 respectively," reads a press release for 130 San Vicente.
In a Covid19 era, people spend more time living and working for home. But are these prices fair?
"For the most part, this is an expensive zip code for residential real estate. You are paying for the location, view and access to beach, proximity and convenience, Santa Monica restaurants and shops, etc." says Erin McGuinness, PR Rep for the building. San Vicente View Apartments was designated an historic landmark in 2006, and has just reopened after extensive renovations.
"I recently moved to LA from NYC in February so my view on sq footage/price/location is very similar to this. From my personal experience in LA thus far, I will say that rent in West Hollywood is quite similar in pricing and you don't have the ocean access just a few hundred feet away," McGuinness adds
"The pricing of San Vicente View is on par or lower than most other residential real estate in the area," McGuinness writes. "According to Rent Café, the average price of a one-bedroom apartment for the Santa Monica area was $3,926 in 2020, making these newly renovated apartments an attractive value for new and longtime residents looking for a new home in historic surroundings with pristine beach views," she adds.
"San Vicente View is a great place to live for young professionals who enjoy an active lifestyle, outdoor activities, well maintained facilities, friendly management team and those who want to escape from the city lifestyle for a relaxing, quite, and tranquil living experience," she writes
"The concept that the apartment portrays is that of a "getaway", all the while just a short jaunt from the city for business or leisure activities. The courtyard is equipped with communal decks, seating and hammocks that tenants can enjoy while reading a book or sun bathing," she adds.
Furnished units include all utilities, washer and dryers within the select units, secured entrances to the complex, detached parking garages, and private patios. There is a "Zen Garden" located in the middle of the property.
