An illegal alien from El Salvador who has been deported from the U.S. 6 times, was arrested by Santa Monica Police for the murder of at least 3 men, and possibly the deaths of his own brother and sister in Texas
Authorities arrested Ramon Escobar after he beat another homeless man at 7th and Broadway Monday morning at 6:51 am. Police say they believe Escobar killed the man found Saturday under the Santa Monica pier. They also believe he killed 2 homeless men in downtown LA. The modus operandi was the same in all 4 deaths: A bat applied to the head of a homeless man.
Today's assault occurred outside a block apartment building built by NMS Construction, just South of Broadway on 7th Street in downtown Santa Monica. 7th street was taped off between Broadway and Colorado, as police investigated the crime.
Someone has killed 3 men on Los Angeles' Skid Row, by clubbing them over the heads with baseball bats. The murders, which occurred in August and September, are being investigated as connected to today's arrest. But no one in the notoriously closed lipped Santa Monica Police Department would say that.
At 4 pm, 7th Street remained blocked off, as police gathered clues.
