Actor Vince Vaughn Charged with DUI in Manhattan Beach Checkpoint

Actor Vince Vaughn has been charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence after he was stopped at a sobriety checkpoint in Manhattan Beach earlier this summer, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced.

Vincent Anthony Vaughn is an American actor, producer, screenwriter, and comedian. Vaughn began acting in the late 1980s, appearing in minor television roles before attaining wider recognition with the 1996 comedy-drama film Swingers. Vaughn Starred in "Swingers" in 1996, a movie where the characters are constantly going to bars.

Vaughn (dob 3/28/70) was charged in case 8TR04880 with one count each of driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, driving with .08 percent blood alcohol content or higher and refusing to comply with a peace officer or to submit to an inspection, all misdemeanors.

Vaughn is expected to be arraigned on Sept. 10 in Department 3 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Torrance Branch.

Vaughn was stopped at about 12:40 a.m. on June 10 at a checkpoint at Artesia Boulevard and Prospect Avenue in Manhattan Beach. Vaughn was allegedly asked repeatedly to get out of his vehicle but he refused, prosecutors said.

He was eventually detained and arrested. If convicted as charged, Vaughn faces up to 360 days in county jail. The case was investigated by the Manhattan Beach Police Department.
