Witness says driver had an ax
Police in San Francisco investigate after a driver apparently intentionally hit five people Wednesday morning following an altercation.
A witness told local TV station KGO-TV the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash swung an ax at a group of people before hitting them and driving off. Four victims were hospitalized following the incident. The crash happened a block off Third street.
San Francisco police say the driver had a physical altercation with five people and then struck five people before fleeing the scene, the station reported. The witness said the driver first swung an ax at the group and then got into van and rammed it into the group. However, police have not confirmed the account, according to the station.
