Santa Monica's Prestigious Artlab to Present Cameron Lee's Debut Art Show, "Flores Fatales"

Painter, Illustrator, Photographer and former model, Lee is more than a pretty face

Renowned artist Cameron Lee and husband Rigel Cable (Rigel Gemini) have collaborated on their first creative project, "Flores Fatales". Inspired by the striking and wide-ranging beauty of flowers, Flores Fatales celebrates human beauty, natural wonder, and elements of dangerous allure.

The two parts in this queer creative duo are Cameron, a visual artist, and Rigel, a social media influencer who goes by @RigelGemini on Instagram. Flores Fatales will open at artLAB Salon in Santa Monica on Saturday, March 25th. All art prints will be available for sale on the Rigel Gemini Online Store.

The final art pieces include 14 digital collage portraits of a diverse range of models who represent a spectrum of race, gender, and sexual orientation. Every element was shot by Cameron, including the bursts of flowers, exotic reptiles, and arachnids. Using digital collage, layers were grafted onto the portraits to create a vibrant, imaginative world.

When Cameron was a child, he watched his Puerto Rican grandmother create paper collages of her tropical homeland, which inspired the style and content of the project. The art pulls inspiration from artists like Frida Kahlo, Gustav Klimt, and present-day artist James Jean.

Cameron Lee hails from Wisconsin and has a fine art degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He possesses a wide range of artistic talent, including painting, photography, and graphic design. His art has been featured in galleries and on the cover of magazines, including Ladygunn Magazine with Brittany Snow (Issue #11: The Discovery Issue). As a professional artist, he does both original work and commissioned pieces. This project bridges his love for the classic art disciplines and the power of digital media.

The art was produced by forces of fashion in Los Angeles, including a partnership with LA Fashion Week, artLAB Salon, and style partners Mr. Turk, Trina Turk, Media Playground PR, We Are Mortals, and Predominantly Black. Models were cast by Landra Dulin, the Casting Director of LA Fashion Week, so models for this art were taken right off the runway. As true fashion art, it will be previewed at LA Fashion Week runway shows on Saturday, March 18th.
