Motorola G4: Why Three is Better Than One

G4 is the Best sub-$250 phone you can buy, & it's still a great device if price isn't important

With the iPhone topping out around $1000 in it's current incarnation, the iPhone 7, even former Mac people are looking for Android alternatives. The Samsung Galaxy isn't for everyone, again because of price. Motorola offers several cheaper alternatives.

If you can't afford the G4 Plus, the less expensive, stripped-down Moto G4 Play is quite frankly the best deal on the market anywhere. For only $150 (or $100 for Amazon Prime members who submit to Amazon Prime ads), you get a budget phone that's surprisingly fast and easy to use, for a rock-bottom price.

On the other hand, the Moto G4, and its larger screen, superior camera and faster processor cost just $50 more than the G4 Play. Find the $50, guys, because the Moto G4 is well worth the additional cost.

The Moto G4 is available in a standard model, the Moto G4 Play, and the Moto G4 Plus. The Play is a lower-end model with a lower resolution camera. Nevertheless, quality is amazing for rear camera and a lower screen resolution.

The base Moto G4 is Motorola's standard model. It's specifications lie between the Play and the Plus. The Plus is a premium model of fourth generation Moto G which has a fingerprint sensor on the front.

The G4 a 16-megapixel rear camera with infrared phase-detection autofocus. Motorola offer up to 4 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of internal storage.

The Moto G4's big, bold screen and junk-free software make it a pleasure to use on a daily basis. Its ability to survive being thrown into water will appeal to the clumsiest 55 year old.

This is the best sub-$250 phone you can buy anywhere, and it's still a great device even if price isn't a consideration.
