Trump May Offer Secretary of State to Mitt Romney, Former Republican Nominee

As if he wanted to prove that he does not hold a grudge, Republican Nominee Donald Trump will meet with his personality antithesis to discuss offering Mitt Romney Secretary of State. The position is regarded as first among equals for Cabinet members, in part because the US Constitution makes the Secretary of State 4th in line to the president. Vice president and Speaker of the House are in front of Secretary of State, in the Presidential line of succession.

Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will meet with Donald Trump this weekend to discuss the secretary of state position, a source close to the president-elect with direct knowledge of his thinking told NBC News.

Mitt Romney called Trump a Fraud, "a Phoney whose promises are worth no more, than a degree from Trump University." This during the Republican primary. If Trump really does appoint him Secretary of State, is says something very positive about both men--they do not hold grudges.

In March, the former Massachusetts governor called Trump "a phony" and "a fraud" when discussing the then-candidate. Trump has called Romney a loser and has said he "choked like a dog" during his 2012 presidential campaign against President Barack Obama.

Trump endorsed Romney during his presidential bid four years ago.
