Sarah Silverman: "To the Bernie or bust people, can I just say you're being ridiculous"

Actress Sarah Silverman, addressing the Democratic National Convention with Comedian/US Sen. Al Franken:

Hi, I'm Al Franken, and I'm Sarah Silverman, and this past year I've been feeling the Bern! Relax, I put some cream on it.

Franken: You see Sarah is the comedian and I'm the politician.

Sarah Silverman: "Al, get out of my frame, (Laughter, Al Franken exits stage left)"

As some of you know I support Bernie Sanders and the movement behind him. He's succeeded in so many ways, he's already proven that Citizens United is not necessary. And I'm very proud that Hill has vowed to overturn it. My shrink says we don't get what we want, we get what we think we deserve

Bernie has shown that all of us deserve quality healthcare. I believe the crazy notion that those not born with the same opportunities as you and me should still be given the same opportunities as you and me

Or as a pretty kickass woman once said, it takes a village. (applause)

This Democratic primary was exemplary. No name calling, No comments about the size of candidates hands,or their ethnicity, or if they go to the bathroom. Inside secret, they do.

That stuff is for third graders, come on! It's like Major arrested development stuff. that's I'm still emotionally 4 and calling people names from my gold encrusted sand box because I was given money instead of human touch or coping skills stuff.

But I digress.

Hillary heard the passion of people, the people behind Bernie. And brought those passions into the party's platform. And that is the process of democracy at its very best. Hillary is our party's nominee and I am proud to vote for her. It's so inspiring just a few years ago she was a secretary and

She's like the only person to be overqualified for a job as president.

So I tell you I will vote for Hillary with gusto as I continue to be inspired and moved to action by the ideals set forth by Bernie, who will never stop fighting for us. I am proud to be a part of Bernie's movement, and a vital part of that movement is making absolutely sure that Hillary Clinton is our next president of the United States. Booya
