Come join us in the classic Hans Christian Anderson tale of the teenage mermaid who falls in love with a human prince. She is willing to give up her life under the sea to become a human but finds out making a deal with the sea witch can lead to trouble! This adventure is audience interactive and will have children from ages 4 to 90 singing along, cheering for the hero’s and booing for the villains! The show begins at 2pm and runs for 60 minutes. Stay after the show to meet your favorite characters!

Climb aboard for this non-stop, action packed fun show that is perfect for ages three and up and the entire family! This show is a Creating Arts Company original Pint Sized play and is an Interactive-Cinamatic-Theatrical-Experience that engages the audience like no other. Children and families are encouraged to participate at times and at other times listen and learn.

The Pier Paddleboard Race & Ocean Festival celebrates surfing, paddleboarding, and lifegaurd history with paddleboard and swim races and an exciting festival. Come particpate in the races or just observe at the Santa Monica Pier with friends or family. There will be a pop-up museum of historic surfboards, paddleboards and memorabilia. Have an opportunity to meet surf legends and watch live music and board demonstrations throughout the day. Lastly, cool down with a Beer Garden hosted by Sierra Nevada or the Rum Lounge sponsored by Tommy Bahama. Expereince Santa Monica beach culture at its finest during the summer with this exciting event.

10th Annual Santa Monica International Teen Film Festival
Starts June 6th
The Santa Monica Teen Film Festival is an interdepartmental initiative between the Santa Monica Cultural Affairs Division, the Santa Monica Public Library, the Virginia Avenue Park Teen Center, Office of Sustainability & Environment and City TV. Its purpose is to showcase and provide an outlet for the creative talents of teen filmmakers, as well as encourage youth to use the art of filmmaking as a form of creative expression and commentary on the world in which they live. Although the festival is open to films by teens from around the globe, the public screenings take place in Santa Monica. You do not need to be present at screenings to win an award.
