Lincoln Middle Schools principal Suzanne Webb has announced that she is leaving to take a new position as Director of Human Resources for our Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District. She will leave effective July 1.
"It has been a true honor to serve the Lincoln community as principal for the last seven years. Each and every one of you has had an impact on me and I will never forget everything I have learned. The Lincoln Staff are true professionals who hold high expectations for their students as well as themselves. I will also miss our supportive community who tirelessly work to make Lincoln the best school possible," she said. "The most difficult part about this transition will be not working with our students who have made my years as principal of Lincoln the best job ever."
Webb took a troubled school reeling from the Thomas Beltran scandal (a teacher molesting students for ten years), and a Draconian discipline system, and turned it into welcoming environment without losing it's academic standards.
Webb was previously the Assistant Principal for Malibu High School. She was appointed principal of Lincoln in August 2008. She started her career with the SMMUSD in 1996, by teaching math at Lincoln. From 2002 to 2004, she was the coordinator of professional development at District HQ.
