Community, Diversity, Sustainability and other Overused Words
On Friday Dec. 19th from 11am-1pm, the SoCal Honda Dealers and the Guys in Blue brought holiday cheer and lit smiles to (400) locals without homes at Ocean Park Community Center (OPCC) by hosting their annual holiday event complete with a warm holiday meal, backpacks filled with winter essentials including parkas, socks and toiletries; and also hosted a raffle to giveaway dozens of thick winter jackets. Bringing a message of hope and generosity in true Helpful spirit, this is one of the many ways the Guys in Blue are continuing their helpful mission during the holidays.
OPCC provides comprehensive services to those most in need of help. In one year's time OPCC is able to provide support to over 1,500 unduplicated homeless individuals and 2,500 unduplicated victims of domestic violence.
The Helpful Honda Guys are also giving Twelve Days of Free Gas to Southland travelers through Christmas Eve. Locations will be leaked on Twitter @HelpfulHonda and Facebook @SoCalHondaDealers.
Why? It's their job to be Helpful. Have you seen the Helpful Honda Guys in Blue in the TV commercials, doing meaningful Random Acts of Helpfulness? Well, the helpfulness is real; both in the commercials and the real-world!
Providing holiday celebrations for those in need is just one of the many ways the SoCal Honda Dealers are being helpful in the community – no strings attached. The Helpful teams visit an average of 100 locations each week –from the Inland Empire and Riverside County to Los Angeles and Orange Counties-- to do small and large acts of kindness. They can be seen pumping free gas for Honda drivers with big Free Gas Tanker Trucks over the holidays, and visiting grocery stores and shopping centers to open doors and load packages for residents.
