The Santa Monica College Musical Theatre Workshop class will present “HIPPIE HOLIDAYS” Dec. 19-21. The production kicks off the final pre-holiday weekend by looking at a selection of musicals – both conventional and unconventional – from the past 70 years.
The workshop, a coproduction of the SMC Theatre Arts and Music departments, is directed by SMC theatre arts professor Janie Jones, with music direction by SMC adjunct music instructor Karen Benjamin.
Performances are scheduled at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19; 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, in the Theatre Arts Studio Stage, located on the SMC main campus at 1900 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica.
Advance tickets are $10, plus a service charge, and can be purchased by going to http://www.smc.edu/eventsinfo or by calling (310) 434-4319 (M-F). Tickets are $3 higher at the door. Parking is free on Friday evenings and weekends. No late seating!
