Third Street Promenade Cheers' to 25 Years with Music Festival & Block Party on Sunday, September 21, 2014. The celebration began with a parade, including the Santa Monica High School Marching Band, the St. Monica Pep Squad, local downtown merchants, city officials, and city police on horseback. The afternoon culminated with a commemorative ribbon-cutting of flowers and vines by Mayor Pro Tempore Terry O'Day and CEO of Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. Kathleen Rawson. Later, a 'build your own sundae' ice cream social was held alongside a lineup of local entertainers and Promenade performers.

Who says drawing is only for artists? Ryman Arts doesn't think so. This local non-profit dedicated to fostering the artistic talent of today's youth and emphasizing the importance of arts education is bringing The Big Draw LA to Los Angeles for the entire month of October. This month-long, hands-on artistic celebration is comprised of more than 60 individual events hosted throughout Southern California, each of which encourages the public to come together and draw, regardless of age or skill level.
