Santa Monica Patriots Win

The Santa Monica Patriots won the ASA Western national championship in softball in Wyoming last week for 16U. Among the players helping the team win the championship were third baseman Sarah Dunn from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, outfielder Jammie Dunn from Notre Dame, outfielder Hali Norris from Malibu, pitcher Paulette Ely from Palisades, catcher Vanessa Temblador from Notre Dame Academy and first baseman Amanda Gonzalez from St. Sebastian. Pitcher Ely dominated in the semifinals and championship game. "I could not be more proud of my girls! They came together at the right time," said coach Yole Barrera.
