Man Caught Riding His Bike Against Traffic Ends Up with Drug Charges

Santa Monica Police say officers stopped a man for riding his bicycle against traffic and on the sidewalk on May 9 at around 9:30 at night. They say the suspect, homeless Terry Richards, started sweating profusely and acting jittery when they confronted him. Lawmen report Richards had no identification on him and consented to a search. Officers say they found a plastic container with methamphetamine inside. Authorities report Richards claimed the substance was iodine and that he found it in a trash bin. Richards was charged with for possession of a controlled substance and the traffic violations and given a 10,000-dollar bail.

Woman Who Allegedly Assaults Boyfriend Ends Up Behind Bars

Santa Monica Police say they responded to a domestic altercation on the 1100 block of 10th on May 8. They say the man stated his girl friend, Louisa Ketron approached him when he was lying on the coach and began yelling at him for an unknown reason and then placed her knee on his torso and held down his arms while yelling at him. Lawmen report a short while later, when he was sitting in the kitchen, Ketron approached him and started banging his plate on the table before throwing it out onto the balcony breaking it. They say Ketron then started hitting the top of his head and tried to bite his head when he held her arms. Authorities say Ketron was arrested for spousal abuse. Lawmen report while at the police station Ketron assaulted jail personnel. She received a 20,000-dollar bail.

Equipment Lands in Jail

Santa Monica Police say they were called to The Gap store on 3rd Street Promenade after store security personnel saw the suspect, Eric Oliver of Los Angeles, stealing from the store. It occurred on May 10 at about 1:30 in the afternoon. Authorities report that loss prevention officers observed Oliver via closed circuit television. They say they saw him walk around the store concealing men's clothing items in his backpack and a shopping bag. Lawmen report Oliver also walked past several open and manned cash registers and exited the store without paying for the items. Officers say they detained Oliver outside the store. They say they recovered item worth almost 120 dollars. Oliver was chargd with petty theft and given a 20,000-dollar bail.
