FIRE ON IDAHO AVE 11:30 PM May 15

One woman was treated for smoke inhalation and as many as 20 are left without housing after a transformer exploded in an alley behind the 800 block of Second street at around 11:30 PM on May 15. At least one apartment was destroyed, and the rest of the third floor was cordoned off limits afterward. 42 firefighters from both Santa Monica and Los Angeles were called to the scene, which is still under investigation. With wildfires raging throughout the state and extreme drought conditions in Southern California, Departments are on high alert for a quick response to any fire or potential fire situation.
