Man Dead after Jumping from Roof

A 25 year old man is dead after apparently jumping from the roof of a medical building near Santa Monica Boulevard and 20th Street Monday afternoon, according to Santa Monica Police.

While authorities have not yet released the man’s identity, SMPD confirmed that he died after falling from the building’s roof, about 15 stories up, around 1 p.m.

Witnesses said that they saw the man smoking a cigarette on the roof of the building shortly before they saw him step to the ledge.

Police had been notified about the man’s behavior and were en route when he fell. Foul play has been ruled out, since there were several witnesses.
