  • Elderly Driver Injures One Pedestrian in Alley Between Washington and Idaho Avenues

    Six Santa Monica police units and 12 police officers responded to a report that an elderly man had hit a pedestrian in the alley between 9th Street and 10th Street, and between Washington Avenue and Idaho Avenue. The pedestrian, a younger man was injured but not seriously, police said.     Santa Monica resident Rita Payne had her motorized scooter stolen by thieves. Thieves broke into her rented garage at 32nd Street and Pico Blvd. The theives cut a chain designed to prevent theft, and stole the motorized scooter worth $3,000 to $4,000. It happened Monday night at 8:44, said KTTV. The Santa Monica Police Department is investigating the crime.
