More than 30 Elegant Tern chicks that were startled off their nesting site in Long Beach Harbor are now in care at International Bird Rescue in San Pedro, reports an organization called Bird Rescue. A man was killed and a woman wounded in a car-to-car shooting in Venice early Monday morning, July 5. A gunman in a passing car shot into a white sedan near the corner of Brooks and 7th Street in Venice. LAPD has announced that it has arrested a suspect in the bludgeoning murder of a homeless man inside a tent on the Venice Boardwalk Friday 6/25/21. It's held the Friday before the holiday, a result of local disgust with a number of murders on July 4th 1998.
